What is Managed
Web Hosting? It's how everyone sees your site!
After
all of the work has been done creating fabulous-looking,
content-rich web pages, we still need to make
it so that everyone else in the world can see
them. This is where Web Hosting comes in. Web
Hosting is the on-going service in which your
website files are placed on a special computer
called a web server. This computer is connected
to the network of the World Wide Web with a very
high-speed connection. When a distant computer
requests to see a page on your website, this web
server "serves" (or sends) the page
file to them. They are then able to experience
your website page on their computer. (Cool, huh?).
CapeRock.net
hosts all of the websites we design. These
websites
are located on our super-fast, very reliable
web servers which have redundant, high-speed
connections
to the internet backbone. Through strategic partnering,
our website servers are located off-premise
in
a state-of-the-art data center. The are guarded
and supervised 24 hours a day.
Managed
Web Hosting means we constantly
monitor your website. In addition to the data
center personnel, we track your site independently,
via the Internet. We maintain special software
that accesses your website (like one of your
customers might) every few minutes. In the
unlikely event that your site can not be reached,
we know about, almost immediately, and can
move quickly to solve the problem.
CapeRock.net
can even host websites we did not develop, but
only if we perform all future maintenance and
updating.
